DAY 3

Swordsman again gets up early and rounds up the horses and treasure before the sleepy Magician gets his first cup of coffee. However he proves to be a good friend and in the end they both get what they need. Captain and Wizard narrowly escape the Trolls, while the Elf finds a couple Ogres of his own to harrass. Sorceror shows off the benefits of being a Frog by getting to the Hoard first, only to find another place of power hidden within its depths. The Witch screams insults from overhead, though unable to control her inexperienced Dragon flight in the tricky air currents of the Ledges, she ends up back on her old perch, helpless to interfere. Sir George finally learns to read his new book, Witch-King continues his progress through the forest, and Amazon picks an unexpectedly lucky time to take a nap.

The hapless Patrol attempt to arrest the Magician and the Sorceror, only to find themselves overcome by the superior speed and ferocity of flashing blades making short work of their mounts and limited armor. The Elf takes pity on a wood-ogre and befriends it, while the Sorceror, not content with being a Frog, experiments by turning himself into other things, namely Mist.

Sunset

The Patrol arrive at the Inn, take one look at the backstabbing and looting going on, and promptly try to arrest the Magician and the Swordsman. (Patrol battle (6,6) Magician and (1,6) Swordsman) The hired Rogues prepare themselves for battle, some swaggering, some fearful, while the Company minds their own business and sets up camp at the far end of the clearing. Eduinae arrives to join the party and waits to see what will happen before approaching any of the adventurers.

Witch-King is glad the unfriendly Lancers are on the other side of the forest, though he is tempted by their horses.

Elf snickers at the Wood-Ogres, thinking he is more likely to make a short meal of them than the other way around, if they weren't so awful-tasting.

Maleficent and Sparrowface hurl insults at each other all night long...

Amazon awakes from her short nap, well-hidden under a tree, and shudders to think what would have happened if she'd moved to the Pool unhidden... even now she is faced with six goblins sharpening their axes on the nearest trees.

Captain and Wizard leave G2 to his uncertain fate and call down the mountain to the rest of the Captain's men. "Shhhh!! You'll bring the monsters upon us again! I'm still not hidden, you know!"

The White Knight enjoys a sunset over the quiet cliffs, glad he is finally learning to read his ancient tome.
