DAY 4

Eduinae makes her first trade, and feels pride that she is bringing home an Elven treasure to her people, as the Swordsman looks with wonder on the outlandish trinket he receives in return. A group of adventurers converges on the Hoard, with much magical vying and behind-the-scenes boasting and bartering. Who will the Witch-King aid when he arrives? Which plunderer will find the next treasure that may aid Eduinae in her plight? Will the Dragon succeed in protecting her hoard? Stay tuned...

Amazon abandons the Pool in favor of exploring the nearby Caverns, while on the other hand Sir George decides that no wimpy Goblins or slithery Octopuses are a match for him, and he heads in that direction. Mandrake finally finds a few prizes at the somewhat subdued Inn, as his erstwhile fighting partner the Swordsman decides to head into the woods with his new prize. Captain and Wizard make a prudent camp on the mountainside, waiting for the rest of their henchmen to catch up. Meanwhile, the Elf hires a most unlikely camp-tender. After much blustering, the Witch and Sorceror continue their cat and mouse, er... dragon and frog game in the evening, neither side gaining any advantage.

Sunset

Ogre wakes up as if from under a spell and wonders how he ever let a wood-elf talk him into anything. But playing with the pretty shiny gold pieces calms him down, along with the rabbit Elf catches for his supper. (Persuade wears off and Magic II2* fatigues)

Though the Swordsman's campfire is small, the forest natives crowd around it in friendship (Lancers (1,3) and Woodfolk (2,2) do not battle Swordsman) Woodfolk play captivating elven ballads while the Lancers roast hot dogs and marshmallows on their long spears, and a good time is had by all late into the warm evening.

Mandrake entertains the Company by surreptitiously donning his new Power Gauntlets and splitting bricks and tree trunks with his bare hands.

Sir George listens to the hypnotic sound of the stalactites dripping on the Pool, hoping it will not put him in the same trance as the Amazon fell into yesterday.

The Amazon looks around at the cavern and smells the stink of Troll. Thankfully no-one seems to be in residence.

Wizard and Captain greet their hirelings warmly, all the more so because once again, one of them is not hidden. They'll be lucky to ever get over this pass alive, though the leader of the Guards is too polite to say so out loud, and likes the clink of gold too much to argue.

The Dragon and the Sorceror eye each other warily, circling the entrance to the Hoard and trading witty and sarcastic (and sometimes just plain nutty) remarks, each vying unsuccessfully to put the other in their place. Eduinae watches in horrified fascination, wondering just what she has gotten herself into but knowing that the Hoard may contain treasures that she simply must have to succeed. Rumors of a great and powerful magical being heading in this direction reach her ears from the forest animals, who may put either of these two to shame.
