DAY 5

The Woodfolk are envious of the Lancer's Ponies and buy Swordsman's horses as mounts. He arrives back at the Inn just the Magician is leaving, heading into the unpredictable winds of magic in the Ledges. The poor Witch still can't manage to land on her Hoard and the Sorceror gets in a few rounds of looting before she enchants the tile and traps him and the rapidly approaching Witch-King in purple mist form. Lengthy negotiations with Eduinae save the day, and the tile is once again restored to its natural form.

The Amazon continues to nap in unlikely places (a troll lair?) while the White Knight sneaks, as well as a clanking Knight can sneak, into the cave with the Pool and slithery Octopus. The Elf leads his new ogre friend to uncover the riches of the Deep Woods and its magical treasure sites, while the Wizard teaches the Captain and his Guards to hide, as they try to at last climb safely into the clearing with the Trolls.

The Sorceror wafts around the clearing as Mist while the Spider scuttles to and fro after him. Meanwhile the Elf plinks an arrow after his own Spider but the Ogre's stench distracted him and he misses. The Wizard and Captain are successful at ridding the High Pass of Trolls, doing the travelers of the Realm a great service. Sir George, in a very lucky and somewhat overconfident swipe, cleanly cleaves the Octopus in two, after studying the pattern of ripples on the pool to predict its movements.

Sunset

A Spider futilely attempts to clack its mandibles at the purple mist, while Eduinae giggles from the forest. The Magician, Witch, Sorceror and Witch-King recover from the successive waves of purple and gold magic that shifted the clearings twice in rapid successsion, just enough to be uncomfortable.

The Elf and his trusty sidekick Shrek face a Spider of their own in the Deep Woods, but are stealthy enough to sneak up on it as it blithely spins its web.

Captain, Wizard, and all their men are in a much better position this time facing the Trolls, though one of the Guard is still unhidden.

White Knight crouches behind a rock formation and studies the ominous ripples on the surface of the Pool, contemplating how best to rid the Realm of this horror.

Amazon wakes up from her nap with a start, and realizes she is lucky not to be Troll dinner tonight.

The Swordsman passes a pleasant evening with the Company, impressing them with his new wealth and telling tall tales of forest adventures.
